Controller – PYCO Industries

PYCO Industries is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead the company’s accounting and financial operations in Lubbock, Texas. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening internal controls, supporting strategic planning, and providing timely financial insights to management and the Board.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, sound business judgment, and the ability to contribute at both the operational and strategic levels. Experience with grant writing and agricultural cooperatives is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
• Prepare financial statements, forecasts, and management reports
• Lead budgeting and budget-to-actual analysis
• Coordinate audits, tax filings, and financial reviews
• Maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning and financial decision-making
• Support grant applications, administration, and reporting
• Present clear financial information and recommendations to management and the Board

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
• CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification
• Significant progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, budgeting, and financial analysis
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Experience with agricultural cooperatives, cooperative accounting, grant writing or administration, and presenting financial information to executive leadership or Boards is preferred.
